This amazing no added sulphur 60% Merlot and 40% Cabernet Sauvignon from the sun-drenched South of France has intense Merlot-based black fruit flavours with notes of plum and herbal garrigue spice singing from the Cabernet Sauvignon. A great red wine in its purest unadulterated form.
About the Estate
Domaines Paul Mas is one of the great names of the Languedoc, combining deep regional heritage with Jean-Claude Mas’ modern, expressive winemaking style. Based near Pézenas, the family-owned estate works across a remarkable range of southern French terroirs, producing wines that are polished, generous and full of character. We work with Jean-Claude on a small but distinctive part of the wider portfolio, including biodynamically managed Mas des Tannes, organically farmed Arrogant Frog from Limoux and Cuvée Secrète – a no-added-sulphur blend that gives a particularly pure expression of Merlot and Cabernet Franc. Very smooth wine, no sulphur but didn't seem to taste any different to a 'normal' wine.

Even with the reduced price this is not such a great wine and is not in the same league as the Waverley Hills.
