Description
This smooth, expressive no added sulphur Syrah from Domaines Paul Mas is inky in colour and full of ripe Languedoc character. Expect generous black fruit, violet and spice, with a clean, pure palate and a subtle touch of roundness from three months’ maturation in American oak. Supple, pure and easy-drinking, it’s a characterful red that works beautifully with grilled dishes, slow-cooked meats or relaxed suppers with friends.
About the Estate
Domaines Paul Mas is one of the great names of the Languedoc, combining deep regional heritage with Jean-Claude Mas’ modern, expressive winemaking style. Based near Pézenas, the family-owned estate works across a remarkable range of southern French terroirs, producing wines that are polished, generous and full of character. We work with Jean-Claude on a small but distinctive part of the wider portfolio, including biodynamically managed Mas des Tannes, organically farmed Arrogant Frog from Limoux and Cuvée Secrète – a no-added-sulphur blend that gives a particularly pure expression of Merlot and Cabernet Franc.
