Organic Shiraz / Syrah Wines

Shiraz or Syrah grapes are a dark-skinned varietal famous for its full body and rich flavours. Syrah and Shiraz are the same grape, but sometimes it can indicate a slight difference in style. Syrah tends to be a lighter and more peppery wine, and most European wines feature this label. Shiraz, on the other hand, can be more full-bodied and fruitier, and they are usually from South Africa or Australia.

However, this isn’t always the case, as many countries use the two labels to distinguish between the stylistic differences between wines. Syrah wine tends to be closer to Northern Rhone reds, with smokier flavours and heavier tannins. Shiraz wine, on the other hand, has a more “New World” flavour, with rip berry flavours, higher alcohol content, and more approachable when young.

Whatever their style, this grape can produce wonderful wines, and it’s often blended with other grapes such as Grenache (these two grapes often form the basis of Côtes du Rhône wines). Check out the variety of organic Shiraz and Syrah wines we can offer you!
