Description
The Georgians have been developing this style of wine for 8,000 years and this unique style of white wine is becoming more and more popular recently. This vibrant, small-batch “orange” wine is crafted from biodynamic Muscat grapes and extended skin contact, giving it its striking hue and gently tannic texture. Aromas of dried citrus peel, apricot and wild herbs lead into a beautifully textured palate with notes of orange blossom, tea-like spice and subtle grip. Fresh, expressive and wonderfully unconventional, this characterful Languedoc white shines with tapas, spicy dishes or creamy cheeses.
About the Estate
Bertie Eden, a passionate winemaker: After having travelled throughout the most beautiful wine-growing regions in the world, working with many renowned oenologists, Bertie fell under the spell of La Livinière and moved to Château Maris in 1997 with his family. His wife Encarnacion Eden was closely involved in contributing to several projects over the years, most recently with the interior design and artwork in their own Villa Maris.
With a desire to produce high-quality wines that respect the environment, Bertie implemented an organic and biodynamic approach from the outset. A committed winegrower and world-renowned specialist in biodynamics, he promotes the benefits of this practice throughout the sector, thus inspiring global environmental change.
