Taste
Ripe plum and black cherry
Aroma
Light aromas of black summer fruits
Description
Named after the young partridges often spotted among the wildflowers in the vineyards at Château Grinou, this is an appealing Vin de France from southwest France, similar in style to its near neighbour Bergerac but at a more approachable price. Ripe plum and black cherry fruit sit at the core, lifted by subtle notes of herbs and spice, with a supple texture and fine balance. Generous and satisfying, it offers impressive depth and a long finish for the price.
About the Estate
The vines of Château Grinou are centred around the small village of Monestier where vines have been planted since the Middle Ages (1053). With efforts from Gabriel and Julien, the new generation at Grinou, they hope this historical area will have a long and fruitful future too. The sons have already helped turn the whole estate to organic production back in 2009, and are now adopting a new strategy in the vineyards and cellar.

A perfect light Bordeaux: lovely berry notes, not too dry, very quaffable, great with lamb.
