Description
A most appealing dry white from the Grinou organic vineyards. 50% Sauvignon, 50% Semillon. Matured on lees in stainless steel tanks to give extra body and flavour. Wonderfully fresh and aromatic offering lashings of verdant, citrus and exotic fruit with a twist of herbal nuance. Good mid-palate texture caresses the taste buds whilst the telling lick of acidity on the finale ensures a crisp, balanced ensemble. Being from the neighbouring (and less trendy) Bergerac region, this is effectively a quality white Bordeaux at a fraction of the cost.
About the Estate
The vines of Château Grinou are centred around the small village of Monestier where vines have been planted since the Middle Ages (1053). With efforts from Gabriel and Julien, the new generation at Grinou, they hope this historical area will have a long and fruitful future too. The sons have already helped turn the whole estate to organic production back in 2009, and are now adopting a new strategy in the vineyards and cellar.
