Description
A clear, deep amber colour to the eye, this whisky immediately fills you with a sweet, warming aroma that envelops all your senses. It is another rare beauty from Da Mhile with a story that involves the Master distiller driving from southwest Wales to Hungary to acquire three special Tokaji barrels (used for over a decade to mature the finest Tokaji (the worldwide famous Hungarian sweet wine).
“This is the first release by Dà Mhìle of a Tokaji cask aged whisky and it will undoubtedly be ranked as one of Wales’ best ever whiskies.”
Limited edition, this should not be missed, the finish has a velvety mouthfeel with hints of crème brûlée, candied nuts and poached pear. The distiller suggests a pairing with mince pies!
About the Estate
Dà Mhìle, pronounced da-vee-lay and meaning Gaelic for two thousand, began life in 1992 when John Savage-Onstwedder commissioned the world's first organic whisky (of the modern era at least) to be made to celebrate the millenium in 2000. The whisky is still being produced (but the original bottles from 1992 are now highly sought after), but they have have also expanded into gin and liqueurs, produced using their own copper pot still in Wales.
