A new Chianti Classico from a boutique winery that embodies the rich heritage and terroir of Tuscany’s southernmost Chianti Classico region. Crafted predominantly from 95% Sangiovese and complemented by 5% Canaiolo, this wine reflects a traditional blend that has been cherished for centuries. Aged for 24 months in traditional 30-hectoliter oak casks, the wine develops a harmonious balance between its vibrant fruit character and subtle oak influences. On the palate, it offers a medium-bodied profile and is a very open wine with perfect maturity and juicy red fruit flavours carrying through, all supported by silky tannins and a savoury undertone of earthy minerality. Ideal for pairing with a variety of dishes, from hearty pasta dishes to grilled meats and aged cheeses.
Tenuta Cappellina is a boutique winery located at the southernmost tip of the Chianti Classico region in Tuscany, Italy. The estate covers approximately 235 acres, with vineyards spread over 25 acres, including 16.5 acres dedicated to Chianti Classico DOCG production and 8.8 acres within the Toscana IGT region. Tenuta Cappellina is committed to organic and sustainable viticulture, avoiding the use of fertilisers and focusing on biodiversity and the natural rhythm of the seasons. The team, led by managing director Alex Burge and renowned winemaker Attilio Pagli, emphasises producing wines that reflect the unique terroir of the region. The estate values high-quality fruit, with a focus on mainly Sangiovese grapes, and employs both traditional and modern winemaking techniques. View all the Tenuta Cappellina wines here.
