Description
At Casar de Burbia they are committed to this ancient variety, which provides very flavoursome white wines with great length of flavour and ageing potential. The Godello grapes are grown at an altitude of 600 metres on clay-rich soils, with the higher altitude of these vineyards resulting in slower ripening. On average the harvest is also twenty days later than the lower terraces, resulting in a superb freshness to this wine with its mineral-kissed acidity and lush aromas of peach and mango that also benefit from extended lees ageing. The palate is delicious with a ripe core of grapefruit and citrus and a gentle creaminess provided by the lees ageing. Pair with either light or dark meats, blue or richer cheeses, Mediterranean veggie dishes or grilled vegetables.

About the Estate
The vineyards owned by Casar de Burbia are located in Northern Spain in the area of the Valtuille de Arriba mountain, alongside the Camino de Santiago. The organic grapes are grown in 26 hectares of mountain vineyards, which are all worked manually according to the soil conditions. The vineyards have been converted to organic, and treatments have been reduced to a minimum in recent years.
