Description
Chablis is a well-known wine region in the northwest corner of Burgundy known for its particular lean and mineral syle of Chardonnay wines. Only 15% of Chablis vineyards have premier cru status, so we’re pleased to have found this organic beauty from Domaine Goulley. This premier cru Chablis comes from the Montmains vineyards, which give a very particular mineral quality to the wines that are made from the grapes grown there. Very lively on the palate, it has good complexity and length. As it matures this quality wine will develop and the fruits will take on a more evolved style with an even nuttier edge.
About the Estate
Domaine Goulley has about twenty hectares of vines located in Chablis, Burgundy. They were organic pioneers in the Chablis area, converting way back in 1991 to revitalise their soils and emphasis the renowned Chablis terroir in their wines. About a third of their Domaine is classified as Petit Chablis, another third as Chablis and the final third as Chablis Premiers Crus: Fourchaume, Montmains and Mont de Milie. Their cellar is located in the town of La Chapelle Vaupelteigne, a village known worldwide for its Premier Cru Fourchaume.
