Fine 50/50 Pinot Noir and Chardonnay organic Champagne from a pioneer producer in the Marne region. Aged in large oak barrels, it is rich yet dry, creamy and full bodied. Unfined and unfiltered, with only low sulphur for fuller expression, this sparkling wine has fine aromas of mature citrus fruit and hazelnut followed by rich fruit, nutty and brioche flavours. A long, lingering finish ensures an unforgettable moment to share with an aperitif, or as an ideal accompaniment to any dish.

Situated in Vandières, this 30-hectare estate has been organically certified since 1969, and was one of the very first in Champagne. Back in the day (late 1980s), it was the first that Vintage Roots visited. Meeting Serge Faust and family and seeing the vineyards was an inspiration. Their eight hectares are located along a hillside above the Marne River in the Marne region, which is known for Pinot Meunier dominant Champagnes. The Cuvée Speciale however is a 50/50 blend of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir and the richer flavours make for great variation in style. In more recent times after Serge’s passing, the daughter and son-in-law have successfully continued the family legacy and kindly agreed to keep the ‘Faust’ labelling for Vintage Roots.
